What is a podiatrist?

Podiatrists (also known as chiropodists) handle the assessment, treatment and diagnosis of issues and abnormalities of the lower limb. All podiatrists must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and are qualified to deal with patients at high risk of amputation including those with diabetes and arthritis.

It is important to know that podiatrists are different from Foot Health Practitioners (FHP), who do not fall under the HCPC's regulations.

People of all ages can encounter foot problems, so if you suspect their is an issue with your feet, then don't hesitate to contact us. As with any medical profession there are specialised areas of study and care, including surgical, sports, paediatrics and diabetic foot care.

At Drayton Podiatry & Chiropody Practice, we take your feet seriously and want to ensure that you have expert assessment and treatment. To speak to one of our team, please contact us today.
